Online Orders

Shopping through our website is the fastest and most convenient method for placing an order with us. However, if you prefer not to order on our website you may also place a phone order. Please give us a call at 718.963.2600 and we will be happy to take care of you.

If you are in the NYC/Brooklyn area you may also choose to come and visit us at our brick-and-mortar location.

Availability

At Task we go out of our way to select distinctive merchandise and many of our featured items are offered in limited quantities. This means that once an item is gone, it may be gone for good and not appear on the website again. Occasionally, some items are temporarily out-of-stock, and you will be alerted to any shipping delay and given an approximate date of shipment at the time of order.

Colors

We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colors of our products that appear on the website. However, due to monitor discrepancies, we cannot guarantee that your display of color will be accurate.

Payment


We happily accept the following methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, or regular account payments via PayPal. You are not required to have a PayPal account to purchase from this store, although if you already have a PayPal account you may use it.

Task gift certificates can be used either at our shop location or to place a phone order, but are not currently available for use online.

Online Security

We use PayPal to process payments. PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours, using the secure sockets layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Respecting and protecting your privacy is very important to us. Any personal information you submit to us will never be sold or shared with any other entity.

Order Confirmation

You will receive an order confirmation via e-mail when your purchase has been completed. When your order has been processed for shipping within the Continental United States you will receive a second e-mail containing a UPS tracking number. Please note that tracking numbers are not available for USPS Priority Mail shipments to P.O. boxes, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and all other International destinations.

Order Processing

We pride ourselves on handling your orders quickly, with most in-stock items departing within 24-48 hours. Products that require a longer than normal lead time will have an estimated processing time-span clearly listed on the product page.

Shipping Methods + Delivery Times

Within the Continental United States we ship via UPS Ground. Deliveries take 1-5 business days, depending on location, with most deliveries arriving in under 3 days. Deliveries to P.O. boxes, Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and all other International deliveries ship via USPS Priority Mail and generally take 6-10* business days, depending on location.

*Most International shippers are fast and reliable, but occasionally they are not. Unfortunately, Task is unable to guarantee delivery times, or provide tracking information for deliveries outside of the Continental United States. Please take these factors into consideration, based on your knowledge of local conditions, prior to placing your order.

If you require expedited shipping**, or have any questions about our products, please feel free to contact us prior to placing your order so that we may further assist you.

**Only deliveries within the Continental United States are available for expedited shipping and additional charges will apply.

A customer signature will be required for expedited deliveries, any shipment containing jewelry or a gift certificate, and all shipments over $500.

Shipping + Handling Charges

We make every effort to keep shipping charges as low as possible, but please note that fees quoted during checkout are based on estimates, as we have no way of knowing in advance where our deliveries will be headed. A Task representative may contact you if actual shipping charges prove to be significantly greater than the estimate. If this is the case, no items will be shipped until you have been notified of, and agree to, any additional charges.

All shipments are insured against loss or damage. All duties and import taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Sales Tax


Sales tax will be added at checkout for New York State destinations only.

RETURNS

If you are not completely happy with the quality of your purchase and you wish to return an item for a refund, we ask that you first notify Task within 5 calendar days of your receipt of the item. Please contact us, with a brief explanation of the problem and a daytime phone number, and we will be happy to take care of you. Please note that all books and magazines, sale items and special-order items are non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

Returned merchandise will not be eligible for a refund without prior authorization and customers are responsible for any return shipping and insurance costs. Merchandise that has been authorized for return and refund/exchange must be received by Task within 10 calendar days of return authorization. All merchandise must be in original unused condition and include all parts, accessories, hang tags, packaging, etc. Task reserves the right to deny any refund or exchange based on the condition of the returned merchandise, so please take care when preparing items for return shipping. We would also recommend that return shipments be insured against the possibility of in-transit damages. Merchandise that is returned after 14 days from original date of receipt, or returned without prior authorization will not be eligible for a refund, but will be eligible for store credit if returned within 30 days. Returns or exchanges will generally not be accepted after 30 calendar days of your receipt of the item.

If for any reason you refuse initial delivery or do not respond to delivery notices, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Goods Damaged in Transit

In the unlikely event that there are damages to the contents of the shipping box upon arrival, Task will process a claim with the shipper. We ask that you contact us immediately so that we may submit the claim in a timely manner. If possible, it is advisable to take digital photos of the damaged packaging and/or product(s) in order to substantiate the claim. As the shipper will generally require an inspection of the mailing container, wrapping, packaging, and damaged product(s) please hold on to these and Task will arrange for them to be picked up.

We will promptly send a replacement for the damaged item(s) if possible. If replacement is not a possibility, we will refund the purchase price including the initial cost of shipping. Shipping charges will not be applied to replacement shipments.

Refunds

Refunds for items that have been authorized for return will be credited back to your original method of payment. Refunds will not be processed until the returned item has been received by Task and deemed to be in good order. We will refund the complete purchase price minus the initial cost of shipping.
